In fact, thanks to this tool potential buyers can understand right away what your company is about and what <strong>values<\/strong> determine its decisions and processes. <\/p>\n\n<p>So, in this article we want to explain how to create a logo. More specifically, we would like to analyze a <strong>case study<\/strong> taken from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/en\/portfolio\/\"><strong>web agency&#8217;s portfolio Isola di Comunicazione<\/strong><\/a> and go through <strong>all the steps<\/strong> that led to the final result. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The creation of a logo in Isola di Comunicazione: our project for ElleGi<\/h2>\n\n<p>Recently, <strong>professionals<\/strong> from our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/agenzia-creativa-milano\/\"><strong>creative agency<\/strong><\/a> worked on a project for the<a href=\"https:\/\/ellegisnc.it\"><strong>ElleGi construction company<\/strong><\/a>. In particular, we were responsible for the <strong>restyling of the business&#8217;s logo<\/strong> in a more modern and eye-catching look. <\/p>\n\n<p>Before proceeding to actual operations, the very first stages of any collaboration with <strong>Isola<\/strong> always coincide with<strong>strategy development<\/strong>. In this case, we started by identifying the client&#8217;s <strong>strengths<\/strong> that, through the new logo, we would need to convey at a glance. <\/p>\n\n<p>From the meetings we had with ElleGi, a common decision emerged to focus on <strong>three pluses of<\/strong> the activity:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>stability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>professionalism  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Turnkey service<\/strong> without the help of third parties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Once we determined what needed to be communicated, we then took action by going through <strong>5 <\/strong><strong>basic<\/strong> <strong>steps <\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><strong>Brainstorming and early hypotheses<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Moodboard<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Color Palette<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Choice of fonts<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Graphic elements<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"brainstorming\">1. Brainstorming and initial hypotheses<\/h3>\n\n<p>The essential first step in creating an effective logo is <strong>brainstorming<\/strong>. That is, the <strong>collection of<\/strong> disparate <strong>ideas<\/strong> that are put on paper to arrive at a <strong>final common solution<\/strong>. In particular, several <strong>hypotheses<\/strong> were made to create ElleGi&#8217;s logo.  <\/p>\n\n<p>We initially started with the idea of developing a <strong>house<\/strong> as an integral part of the logo itself.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"377\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ipotesi-creazione-logo-isola-di-comunicazione.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-252889\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ipotesi-creazione-logo-isola-di-comunicazione.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ipotesi-creazione-logo-isola-di-comunicazione-300x226.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The proposal, discarded by the client, made us take another <strong>, even more specific direction.<\/strong> In fact, in addition to conveying the concept of <strong>stability<\/strong>, ElleGi also wanted to focus on <strong>completeness of service<\/strong>, a great <strong>advantage<\/strong> offered to customers by this reality. <\/p>\n\n<p>Specifically, we were asked to introduce a <strong>square<\/strong>, <strong>compass<\/strong> or <strong>trowel<\/strong> into the logo to represent both the <strong>construction<\/strong> and <strong>design<\/strong> phases.<\/p>\n\n<p>So we decided to develop <strong>all three requests<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"453\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/creazione-di-un-logo-per-impresa-edile.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-252891\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/creazione-di-un-logo-per-impresa-edile.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/creazione-di-un-logo-per-impresa-edile-300x227.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">At this point, the problem encountered was that it was <strong>difficult to read the inserted images<\/strong> because so many elements created clutter. Moodboard<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The <strong>moodboard<\/strong> is that part of the logo development that integrates the <strong>images<\/strong> and <strong>resources<\/strong> used in the <strong>brainstorming<\/strong> phase, to allow for <strong>easy reading of the design<\/strong> by the <strong>client<\/strong>.<br\/>In addition, this also allows for <strong>discussion with the entire team<\/strong>, so that we get to create something unique and easily distinguishable from competitors.<\/p>\n\n<p>To <strong>make a moodboard<\/strong>, these <strong>steps<\/strong> are needed:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>we are confronted with the customer&#8217;s request<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>one finds visually pleasing images that can be linked back to the project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>new ideas are gathered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>one sees again in the whole what has been brought to light<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>you come to a final solution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"colorpalette\">3. Color Palette<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Creazione-palette-per-logo-aziendale-isola.jpg\" alt=\"Corporate logo island palette creation\" class=\"wp-image-249622\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Next, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/en\/services\/graphic-design-studio\/\"><strong>our graphic designers<\/strong><\/a> moved on to <strong>define the Color Palette<\/strong>. That is, the <strong>color pairings<\/strong> best suited to convey the client&#8217;s message. <\/p>\n\n<p>For ElleGi, the choice fell on a <strong>simple and direct palette<\/strong>. In fact, we chose to use a <strong>bright<\/strong> <strong>red<\/strong> because of its ability to <strong>catch the<\/strong> viewer&#8217;s <strong>eye<\/strong> and <strong>attract the attention<\/strong> of potential customers.<br\/>Our intention was to <strong>make the reader focus<\/strong> on <strong>all the elements of the logo<\/strong> created. In this way, we enabled them to <strong>understand<\/strong> what kind of <strong>business<\/strong> our client does and the <strong>values<\/strong> that characterize it.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Not only that: in order to maintain balance, red was used as a <strong>filler<\/strong> for part of the name (&#8220;Elle&#8221;) and as <strong>lineart<\/strong> for the final part (&#8220;Gi&#8221;).<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"font\">4. The choice of fonts<\/h3>\n\n<p>Regarding the choice of Fonts, our agency proposed two types of fonts: Alternate Gothic Condensed and Avory I Latin. Let&#8217;s look at them specifically: <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"152\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Font-usato-per-creazione-logo-impresa-edile.jpg\" alt=\"Font used for construction company logo creation\" class=\"wp-image-249624\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Font-usato-per-creazione-logo-impresa-edile.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Font-usato-per-creazione-logo-impresa-edile-300x91.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Alternate Gothic Condensed<\/strong> &#8211; Designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Typefounders Company in 1903, it belongs to the Sans Serif family. Sturdy yet compact, this font is an excellent choice when typography needs to fit into tight spaces. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"152\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Font-logo-creazione-isola-di-comunicazione.jpg\" alt=\"Font logo creation communication island\" class=\"wp-image-249623\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Font-logo-creazione-isola-di-comunicazione.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Font-logo-creazione-isola-di-comunicazione-300x91.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Avory I latin<\/strong> &#8211; Designed by Sl\u00e1va Jev\u010dinov\u00e1 and inspired by the lettering work of mid-century Czech graphic designer Jaroslav Benda. It features 9 weights, complete with italics and a wide range of symbols. Avory is a delicately condensed sans, distinguished for being easily readable even from a distance.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">After several trials, we decided to use the <strong>former<\/strong>, given its greater <strong>readability<\/strong> and <strong>sense of stability.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"elementigrafici\">5. Graphic elements<\/h3>\n\n<p>As mentioned earlier, the client asked us to include <strong>graphic elements<\/strong> within the logo with references to the work done by the company on a daily basis.<\/p>\n\n<p>After discussing this with ElleGi, the <strong>compass<\/strong> was the ideal choice for us. In particular, we designed one in <strong>Minimal<\/strong> style, formed by <strong>simple<\/strong>, <strong>clean<\/strong> <strong>lines<\/strong> that are also <strong>functional<\/strong> for any business cards or small-format prints. <\/p>\n\n<p>Once it was made, we showed it to the client, who requested that we also include <strong>maps of architectural plans.<\/strong> These were created by our specialists using the<strong> graphic table<\/strong>, a tool that allows freehand drawing. In this way, we were able to create an <strong>all-around customized logo.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Creazione-logo-impresa-edile.jpg\" alt=\"Construction company logo creation\" class=\"wp-image-249621\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Creazione-logo-impresa-edile.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Creazione-logo-impresa-edile-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Creazione-logo-impresa-edile-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Beyond logo creation: the payoff for our client<\/h3>\n\n<p>ElleGi&#8217;s<strong>latest request<\/strong> was to create an <strong>impactful payoff<\/strong> to accompany the logotype and make it even more effective. I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isoladicomunicazione.com\/en\/services\/copywriting-agency\/\"><strong>copywriters<\/strong><\/a> of <strong>Isola di Comunicazione<\/strong> created an ad hoc one capable of conveying all the <strong>ideals<\/strong> of the company.
