Facebook Watch<\/strong> is Facebook’s<\/strong> new streaming video<\/strong> platform.<\/p>\n\n

After a year since its debut in the United States, Facebook Watch finally opened to the world on August 29, 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

This is a first in the digital world.<\/p>\n\n

However, Italy will have to wait a little longer for the service to be activated. In September, however, it will already be available in Spain, France and Germany.<\/p>\n\n

In this regard, Mark Zuckerberg<\/strong> has already said he is pleased with the results just achieved in Europe. In fact, it is counted that more than 50 million users have already used the platform for at least one minute. And the numbers are set to grow, becoming a potential threat to the video-on-demand giants. <\/p>\n\n

Now YouTube<\/strong>, Netflix<\/strong> and Amazon Prime<\/strong> will have a new potential competitor.<\/p>\n\n

How Facebook Watch works<\/h1>\n\n

As we said, Facebook Watch<\/strong> has all the makings of a phenomenon in the world of video streaming. Not only because of its enormous entertainment potential, but also because of its user-friendly features.<\/p>\n\n

Interaction<\/strong> and sharing<\/strong>, in fact, were the features that were most important to its creators. The same ones that made Facebook unique and great as a social network. <\/p>\n\n

But why was Facebook Watch<\/strong> born?<\/p>\n\n

Above all, the platform wants to move closer to the trend of Millennials<\/strong> who were increasingly moving away from the California-based social network, preferring Snapchat and Instagram.<\/p>\n\n

After a billion-dollar investment, Facebook Watch<\/strong> will also appear in the official app in Italy. Its icon will be in the shape of a blue and white TV<\/strong> that will find a place between the Notifications, News and Menu sections. <\/p>\n\n

The interface will also be in line with the graphics of the whole application.<\/p>\n\n

In addition, Facebook Watch<\/strong> will also soon be available on Apple TV<\/strong>, Android TV<\/strong>, iOS<\/strong>, Samsung Smart TV<\/strong>, Amazon Fire TV<\/strong>, Xbox One<\/strong>, and Oculus TV<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Facebook Watch videos<\/h2>\n\n

Videos uploaded to the platform will be produced mainly by Facebook<\/strong> itself, companies<\/strong>, influencers<\/strong> and creators<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Programs, episodes, live broadcasts and videos will be able to be shared among Facebook Friends. In fact, that’s what the platform is aiming for:entertainment<\/strong> and collective viewing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Facebook Watch<\/strong> offers monetizable videos, like those on Youtube.<\/p>\n\n

This is possible thanks to AdBreaks<\/strong>, Facebook’s monetization system.<\/p>\n\n

This also gives creators and videomakers a chance to earn from advertisements(55 percent<\/strong> of earnings to the creator, 45 percent<\/strong> to Facebook).<\/p>\n\n

Currently, Facebook Watch<\/strong> ad breaks include both mid-roll<\/strong> and pre-roll<\/strong> formats. As well as ads below videos<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

To date, however, advertising breaks<\/strong> are available only in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.<\/p>\n\n

To be eligible for monetization, pages in these countries must have created at least 3-minute videos.<\/strong> And they must also have more than 30,000 one-minute views<\/strong> in the past two months. Finally, the Facebook page must have at least 10,000 followers<\/strong> and meet Facebook Watch Standards.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

In any case, from September, Facebook Watch<\/strong> will also extend monetization to Argentina<\/strong>, Belgium<\/strong>, Bolivia<\/strong>, Chile<\/strong>, Colombia<\/strong>, Denmark<\/strong>, Dominican Republic<\/strong>, Ecuador<\/strong>, El Salvador<\/strong>, France<\/strong>, Germany<\/strong>, Guatemala<\/strong>, Honduras<\/strong>, and Mexico<\/strong>, Netherlands<\/strong>, Norway<\/strong>, Peru<\/strong>, Portugal<\/strong>, Spain<\/strong>, Sweden<\/strong>, and Thailand<\/strong>. Both in English and local languages. <\/p>\n\n

But that’s not all, in the coming months the coverage will be extended further.<\/p>\n\n
